Facebook-owned Instagram Reels is now getting another upgrade and it will allow users save and share sounds. This has made it more like Bytedance’s TikTok. In other words, Instagram is trying to make it easier for users to share and save audio clips. There is a new audio browser which would now highlight songs that are trending in the app along with personalised recommendations. Also, the ability to save audio and share for later use has been rolled out.
Now, with the new updates being rolled out, Reels users will be able to identify songs and clips faster and also bookmark them within the photo-sharing platform.
Earlier in September, Instagram’s short video feature sharing feature rolled out an update and this allowed users to create a Reel of up to 30 seconds. The Reels feature were only up to 15 seconds before that.
The photo-sharing platform has also announced a number of basic, but useful updates for its short video making and sharing – which was soon launched after TikTok made its exit from the Indian market.
There are other updates which include extending the timer for up to 10 seconds while recording a Reel, and also the ability to clip and delete any clip. Instagram will roll out these updates fairly soon.
Essentially, reels is a short video making and sharing feature on Instagram. As per Instagram, “Reels invites you to create fun videos to share with your friends or anyone on Instagram. Record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and new creative tools. You can share reels with your followers on Feed, and, if you have a public account, make them available to the wider Instagram community through a new space in Explore. Reels in Explore offers anyone the chance to become a creator on Instagram and reach new audiences on a global stage.”
