WhatsApp has introduced a new feature which will be called carts with a bid to facilitate businesses in showcasing their catalogs as well as receiving orders through them. Earlier, the company had launched catalogs that allowed customers to quickly see what was available and in the process, helped businesses organize their chats around particular items. Further, carts also allowed customers to accumulate the required products in a single cart.
Carts have become a useful tool for messaging businesses, especially the ones that sell a number of items in one go. These include local restaurant or clothing store. Now, with carts people have the option to scroll through a catalog, select multiple products and then send the order as one message to the business. This makes the entire process simple for businesses as they look to keep track of order inquiries, manage requests from customers and also close sales.
Here’s how the user can use the new carts on WhatsApp:
When you visit a business’ catalog on WhatsApp, you will be able to use the ‘Message Business’ to start a conversation or even use the ‘Add to Cart’ button if you are ready to place an order with the business about any product that you are viewing.
Adding products to cart:
Now, go to the chat or business profile that you would like to place your order from.
You need to then tap on the shopping button icon listed next to their name to access their catalog.
Once the catalog opens, you will then need to browse through the products you would like to order.
Tap on the product you like.
Proceed to tap Add to Cart on product if you’d like to order.
Apart from this, you can also tap ‘Message Business’ if you want to pose a specific question about the product.
Placing an order:
Now that you have successfully updated your cart, you will able to send it to the seller as a WhatsApp message.
Once this is sent, you will then be able to see all the details of the order by tapping on the ‘View Cart’ button in your chat window with the seller.
