WhatsApp rolls out major new update, huge improvements expected

This new update derives a lot of inspiration for iOS, and are quite substantial, if not mightily impressive

It is yet another update for popular instant messaging platform, WhatsApp. The version named 2.19.71 – which can be availed through the Google Play Beta Program has with it a number of new features which are impressive, despite not being anything substantial.

According to a report by the WeBetaInfo, WhatsApp’s new update is more focused on the iOS software as it is also testing a new doodle feature with the aim of adding “Stickers” and “Emoji” categories – exactly like it currently appears in the iOS version of the messaging app.

Hence, as of now, this new layout is quite similar to the one implemented on iOS As such, this new layout is implemented will be very similar to the one implemented on iOS and will show two different tabs in emojis and stickers. WhatsApp has been always quite keen to improve on stickers and with the latest update, there will be concerted effort to get third party on board for providing more interactive stickers.

WeBetaInfo further explains, that this update would now allow users the facility to add stickers to images, videos and GIFs. Also, the update adds that it would allow users to look for stickers using a search button within WhatsApp. However, the button cannot be seen as WhatsApp has encountered bug which is preventing the button from showing up in the Android version.

As of now, there is no clarity on when the 2.19.71 update is going to be rolled out for users, but since the beta version has been rolled out the full version will out sooner rather than later.

In another development, WhatsApp has been banning accounts of users who were using modified versions of the app which include WhatsApp Plus and GB WhatsApp. These apps are modified by third-parties and hence, the company cannot validate its security practices.
