The social messaging app is also planning to roll out the second version of its picture-in-picture (PIP) mode, which will then allow users to watch YouTube, Facebook and Instagram videos within WhatsApp.
In order to curb the spread of fake news on its platform, WhatsApp is working on a host of new features to its platform. Now what we do know is that it is planning to add frequently forwarded and forwarding info features to curb and monitor the spread of fake news. Also, there is the dark mode planned on the platform which is expected to be rolled out anytime soon. And now, WhatsApp is also planning on adding consecutive voice messages feature to its app.
As per the report from WABetaInfo, which actively tracks developments in WhatsApp, the app os working on incorporating a consecutive voice messages feature to its Android app which would enable users to play consecutive voice messages automatically. This feature is also available as a part of WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.19.86.
So, how do you check if this feature is working for you?
Ask a friend to send you two consecutive voice messages. Play the first message and if the second one plays automatically this feature is available for you. Apart from this, the social messaging app is also planning to roll out the second version of its picture-in-picture (PIP) mode, which will then allow users to watch YouTube, Facebook and Instagram videos within WhatsApp.
So, if you check right now, the first version of this feature does not allow users to switch from the chat window without closing the window. The aforementioned feature, which is still in the development phase will overcome this impediment and users can then watch videos in the PIP mode even when WhatsApp is running in the background.
Once it is ready, it will be made available for smartphones which are running on Android 8.0 Oreo as well as newer versions of Google’s mobile operating system. However, when this actually sees the light of the day is not yet mentioned.
