In what can revolutionise the e-commerce industry, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has announced that it would soon roll out their own e-commerce platform which will connect and digitise retailers all across the country.
The e-commerce platform will be called “bharatemarket.in” and it will be in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT). The platform aims to digitise over 70 million retailers all across the country.

CAIT also said that the proposed e-commerce platform will also have real-world retailers and grocery stores – both of whom have served consumers for over years. They will also direct their focus in order to take care of privacy of consumer data.
Also, the e-commerce platform will also be directing their focus on providing end-to-end logistics and supply chain services straight from the manufacturers to end consumers.
the e-commerce platform will offer home deliveries and charge no transaction fee to customers for transactions on its platform.
All the concerned who will be part of this venture – and this includes traders their employees and delivery people will have to use the Indian government’s Aarogya Setu app for their safety.
“This portal is by the traders, for the trader, of the traders. We intend to connect to the consumers across the country. We aim at connecting nearly 1 crore traders using this portal. We aim to make this portal the largest in the world and fulfill PM Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision,” CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal informed in a statement on social-media platform Twitter.
