Oppo’s upcoming Inno Day tech event has become a platform where the company has been able to showcase its new wares and tech that we can expect to see in all of its future products. Last week, the Chinese phone maker teased a new AR Glass wearable and this is the device that they are planning to announce at their November 17 event. Now, Oppo has also dropped a teaser about Inno Day product and well, we believe, it might just steal the limelight from LG’s rollable phone.
The company took to Weibo and Twitter where they teased this new phone which has a retractable display. “Big screen? Small screen? Infinite screen? In the future, your mobile phone may be able to retract freely,” reads the Weibo post (machine translated).
The teaser is also accompanied by an image where one can show a curved corner and a display that stretches out of the phone’s chassis. This same concept phone image was also used on Twitter where Oppo claimed that this device will “usher in a new era of screen.”
Oppo has not revealed many more details, but by the initial looks, we might well see a prototype or a concept phone which might be similar to what what TCL showed off earlier this year. Not only this, LG is also working on a similar rollable phone, and we believe Oppo could just tip the scales in its favour.
We hope Oppo shows off a working device and also gives us a glimpse of how this software would adapt to the different rollable screens. However, as things stand now, the future of phones sure looks flexible and Oppo has dived right into it. We can now wait and keep an eye out for plenty of more details which will be launched in the future.
