There are reports which suggest that Xiaomi-backed Black Shark is working on a phone which could offer up to 16GB of RAM.

Companies like Asus, Samsung and Black Shark have already made their presence felt in the 10GB RAM bracket as far as smartphones are concerned. As of now, there are only a handful of companies which include Black Shark 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus and ROG Phone 2 that offer up to 12GB of RAM.

However, there are reports which suggest that Xiaomi-backed Black Shark is working on a phone which could offer up to 16GB of RAM.

This new phone is dubbed as Black Shark 3 5G, and has already been certified by MIIT, a Chinese certification website. Hence, the affirmation that the phone could be launched with 16GB of RAM. Hence, if this particular listing is true it could well make Black Shark 3 the world’s first phone with such high RAM capacity. To put things into perspective, this will be more powerful than some of the budget laptops.

What about the other details?

The listing does not reveal many other details about the Black Shark 3 smartphone. However, it does reveal that the phone will come with 5G connectivity, and hence, this will bump up the price of the model.

As per several reports, Black Shark 3 is expected to be the successor to the Black Shark 2 Pro, which was launched with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset as well as with a 4,000mAh battery. Also, the phone could be powered with a similar 4,000mAh battery as its predecessor.

This leaked information is out courtesy a Chinese tipster who revealed about the possible high price of the phone owing to 5G connectivity. He also went on to add that this could force Black Shark to launch a non-5G variant of the device at a later date.
