A number of iPhone users have come out with complaints about facing battery drain issues after updating their phones to iOS 14.2. Not only this, the battery drain issue has also plagued several other iPhone models that include the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone X, iPhone 7, and the iPhone SE (2020). Apart from this, the issue has also impacted the iPad users who have updated their devices to iPad 14.2
iPhone users have put out their complaints on Apple Developer Forums as well as on Reddit complaining about the battery issues. The report of the iPhone causing battery drain was reported soon after. Users have taken to Reddit where they reported that their devices are draining over 50 percent battery in less than 30 minutes. Now, they have also noticed a major drop in battery around five percent within minutes of normal use.
“I updated my iPhone 7+ to iOS 14.2 and now I have a battery drain problem and it takes a long time to be charged and warmup during charging,” one user posted on Reddit.
There was another user who posted on Twitter: “ @AppleSupport @Apple updated my iPhone 11 to iOS 14.2 & seeing quite a lot of battery drain & phone is not even 12 months old yet. Not a great update to the iOS and I’ll be moving over to android for my next phone as not good enough for not even a 1-year-old device.”
iPhone had earlier reported issues with the iOS 14 update. Apple had acknowledged the concerns after which they advised the users to delete their content and settings from their iPhones in order to fix the issue. However, they have not yet responded to the issues caused by the iOS 14.2 update.
All these issues were first spotted in older iPhones and no cases of battery drain have been reported by iPhone 12 users yet. However, some iPhone 12 users had too reported battery drainage issues but have not elaborated the cause.
