OnePlus 8T Concept announced: Accept calls without touching the device

OnePlus will once again give a glimpse of its futuristic smartphone tech when they will give a sneak peek of the OnePlus 8T Concept that will come with an innovative design which will be similar to what we saw in last year’s concept phone.

As far as the name is concerned, this phone will be based on the OnePlus 8T. However, it will have enough variants in terms of extras which will help it stand out from all the regular variants. This is primarily because the phone will make use of the electrochromic glass technology which will be employed on last year’s OnePlus Concept One. The phone’s glass back will also have a metal oxide film that will change colour when voltage is applied to it.

As per OnePlus, the back panel will also change colours whenever there will be a new notification or even an incoming call. The back of the phone will have a pattern that runs all over and it will have OnePlus written all over from the hot springs of Pamukkale in Turkey.

The phone will also offer more functionality when the design will work in tandem with mmWave technology. OnePlus says that the mmWave radar module inside the device will transmit and receive electromagnetic waves. When electromagnetic waves will be received, the digital signal processing (DSP) and CPU perform signal and information processing and this will allow the device to perceive, image, locate, and track objects.

The company goes on to explain that this will also open up a whole host of possibilities for how people interact with their smartphones. Even though, there are only a few use case scenarios, the company hopes that that there will many more uses for Reactive Sensing in the near future.

The phone will have touchless notifications where in, the phone’ back could flash colours for an incoming call and hence, users will be able to accept or reject the call with a simple gesture.
