The budget category has always been the most sought-after segment in the Indian smartphone market. The Poco M3, which was launched last year, has already become the smartphone to beat this year in sub-Rs 12,000 category. It has almost everything to rule the budget segment in coming months – the looks are dope, the display is cool and it also has a great battery and decent camera setup. For all these features, this phone can be purchased for less than Rs 12,000.
The Poco M3 is the successor of the Poco M2. It is priced at Rs 10,999 for the base 64GB variant while the 128GB variant is priced at Rs 11,999 in India. It should be mentioned here that both these variants come with 6GB of RAM, unlike 4GB variant that sells in other markets.
Poco M3: Design
Poco has ditched the glossy back panel in favour of an-all plastic build and this offers a better grip and makes the body fingerprint-resistant. The textured leather cover finish is a nice touch and at the same time, this look gives it a pricier look despite the modest cost.
Around the body of the phone, one can see the stereo speakers, the 3.5mm audio jack, the IR blaster, triple card slot, type-C USB charging port and a microphone. The Poco M3 measures 162.3 x 77.3 x 9.6 mm and weighs 198 grams. This is actually impressive given that the phone packs a big 6000 mAh battery.
Flip the phone, you will see a beautiful 6.53-inch 1080p IPS LCD display with really slim bezel and impressive screen-to-body ratio. There is a water drop-like shaped notch that will have the selfie shooter, and everything is covered with Gorilla Glass 3.
The Poco M3 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC and while, it would not be enough to run heavy-duty games but should be enough for daily tasks.
