Realme X50 Pro 5G to be world’s first phone with India’s NavIC navigation system

Realme X50 Pro 5G – India’s first 5G phone – will be the first phone in the world to feature the NavIC navigation system. NavIC is essentially the satellite navigation system which has been developed by India’s space agency, Indian Space and Research Organisation.

This announcement was made by Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth on Twitter in which he also revealed that the Realme 6 series phones, which will be launched on March 5 in India, will also support NavIC.

This is one of the many interesting feats which has been tagged to Realme X50 Pro 5G has bagged. It is already the first 5G phone in India. It will also be the first phone which will come with a Snapdragon 865 SoC, and now, the first device to support NavIC.

Sheth was responding to a tweet and confirmed the development – Yes, our ultimate flagship, #realmeX50Pro features #NavIC & even our upcoming phone will feature it as well.

He then went on to add that the world’s second phone to feature NavIC will also be from Realme the announcement of which will be made on March 5 – the launch day for Realme 6 series in India.

What are the features?

The Realme X50 Pro 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Qualcomm had already made an announcement back in October last year that its chipsets will support NavIC, which will be developed by ISRO.

Qualcomm then went on to launch three new chipsets the Snapdragon 720G, the Snapdragon 662, and the Snapdragon 460 which extended support to NavIC.

Now that NavIC will extend support to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC this could mean that IQOO 3, which is the second phone to come with the same chipset, will have the receiver. However, we cannot confirm the same.
