Reliance Jio has become one of the most affordable telecom brands in India ever since it was launched in the Indian market. The plans are quite affordable and the internet connectivity was quite fast. As per the latest TRAI data, Jio has the best download speed amongst the other telecom giants such as Vodafone Idea, Airtel and BSNL.
The TRAI data says that Reliance Jio has topped the average 4G download speed rankings with 20.9 megabits per second (Mbps) speed. Vodafone, on the other hand, has led the chart in terms of 4G upload speed in January. The report also says that Jio’s speed was almost three times higher than its rival Bharti Airtel.
It was, however, not good news for Vodafone as it languished in the third position as far as the download speed is concerned. It topped the upload data ranking – the data speed was 6 Mbps, followed by Idea with 5.6 Mbps, Airtel 3.8 Mbps and Reliance Jio 3.8 Mbps.
In another development, Reliance’s JioFiber became the fastest broadband operator and got back its spot in Netflix ISP Speed Index in the month of January 2020. Before this, Mumbai-based 7 Star Digital topped the Netflix ISP Speed Index.
It needs to be mentioned that the Netflix ISP index is one to measure the prime time Netflix performance. The data for January states that JioFiber had a hassle-free Netflix streaming experience, and this was followed by 7 Star Digital.
The download speed is essentially determined by how fast a user can access websites, apps and other content on the internet. Upload speed, on the other hand, is all about how fast you can share your content such as email, messages, photos etc.
