Reliance has finally rolled out its video conferencing platform JioMeet which is aimed to take on the likes of Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. The JioMeet apps which are made available on Google Play Store as well as App Store for download.
Now, there are enough video conferencing tools that are already available in the market, but then Jio aims to be the first choice in the country. Before this, there was a beta version of the app which was rolled out for the developers, but then after several stages of testing, a stable version of the JioMeet app has introduced for both Android and iOS users.
This can be accessed from the web and the mobile as well. Now, the app is readily available in the Play Store and the App store, but the web version might take a while to function. As when you go to the website of JioMeet, it says “coming soon”, which means that the web version will take some time before being launched in India.
The JioMeet video conferencing app can extend support to up to 100 participants in a single call and it will free of cost. A user can sign up using the mobile number or an email ID and then start the call. The app also has several interesting features that might give it an edge over Zoom and other popular apps.
With JioMeet, one can also host any number of meetings in a day and all these meetings can last for up to 24hrs. For security and privacy reasons, Jio has announced that all the meetings will be password protected. The host will have the control and they can send the uninvited guests to the “Waiting Room” as this will ensure there are no gatecrashes during the meeting.
If we go through the UI, it is easy, simple, and relatively uncluttered and this makes it very easy to not only use but host important calls. The battle sure is heating up in the video-calling ecosystem.
