Xiaomi confirms Mi 11 series with Snapdragon 888 launch date revealed

After a number of leaks and speculations around the upcoming flagship, Mi 11, Xiaomi has now revealed the launch of the device. The company has officially said that the phone will be rolled out before the end of the year and have also confirmed that the date of the launch will be December 28.

Xiaomi informed about the developments via a post of Weibo where it was also confirmed that the Mi 11 series will launch at 7:30 PM on December 28. The company, however, stopped short of disclosing any further information about the upcoming phones. 

Xiaomi Mi 11: Features and specifications 

The Mi 11 is all set to be the among the first devices in the world that will make use of the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. The information was disclosed by the company’s CEO Lei Jun, who confirmed that the Mi 11 will also have a chipset at launch. This announcement was made using a special message during Qualcomm’s first Keynote at the Snapdragon Tech Summit.

The latest leaks went on to say that unlike the Mi 11 Pro, the Mi 11 will not get a curved screen. The phone will have a punch-hole design – however, there is no clarity on whether there will be any support extended to Full HD+ or Quad HD+ resolution.

The leaks go on to suggest that the Mi 11 will have a triple camera set-up with a primary 108-megapixel lens. The secondary lens will be an ultrawide lens. And, then, there would be a third lens on the Mi 11 that will complete the entire set. 

These are the few features that we know about and now, it has also been confirmed that the phone will come with 5G support. Also, it will be Snapdragon 888 mobile platform that will bring with itself new AI chops as well as gaming technologies that include support for 3rd-gen Elite Gaming from Snapdragon.
