Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is working on a fitness band which could be launched next month. If a new leak on
the Mi Band 5 is anything to go by, it will come with Amazon Alexa support and it will also come with
an SpO2 sensor.
An SpO2 sensor on the Mi Band 5 will make the fitness band keep a track of the levels of blood
oxygen saturation as well track menstrual cycle. These features will be a major add on to the Mi
Band 5. Amazon Alexa extending support to the Mi Band 5 will be another key upgrade made to the
This leak comes as per a report by TizenHelp which also suggests that the Mi Band 5 will have a
“Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI)”. This feature reveal to the users how much activity is required
to stay healthy. The fitness band will then make suggestions to the user which will be based in the
user’s heart rate data.
The report also goes on to add that Xiaomi will restrict the NFC variant of Mi Band 5 only to China.
The Mi Band 4 also has an NFC variant but then it has not been available outside anywhere outside
China. The band will also extend support to Xiaomi’s virtual assistant. And equipped with Amazon
Alexa on the Mi Band 5, it aims to gain global traction.
As per rumours, Mi Band 5 will have a 1.2-inch OLED display which is expected to be bigger when
compared with the Mi Band 4. It is also expected to come with a bigger battery. Although, there has
been no official word on the Mi Band 5, but it is expected to make its appearance in China next month.
