End of the frustration – Facebook Messenger rolls out brilliant new feature

This feature will allow the user to long press the message after which they will see a reply icon next to reaction emojis.

WhatsApp remains one of the most popular messaging apps in India, but the Facebook messenger is giving it a rather good fight. It is also unique in many ways, the most being the fact that it links your Facebook friend list and offers specific features like reacting to different messages and a floating bubble icon for ant one you have an active conversation. However, now this app has rolled out a new feature, which like WhatsApp, will allow users to respond to specific messages.

Now, this feature is quite similar to what WhatsApp has right now. It was reported by Venture Beat. However, we have not been able to spot this aforementioned feature on an Android smartphone even after updating the app to the latest version.

So basically, now that this feature has come out, it will allow the user to long press the message after which they will see a reply icon next to reaction emojis. They can then send a reaction message, much in the same way, one can do using WhatsApp. This will allow the two people conversing to have clarity on where the conversation is heading, something which can go for a toss during long drawn out conversations on Messenger. The original message will be displayed above along with the reply.

WhatsApp has had this feature for a long time now and now Messenger has finally decided to join the bandwagon. Although WhatsApp is used more in India, Facebook Messenger can tap into the market since this feature can also be availed on laptops while using the normal Facebook option on the browser.

Facebook told The New York Times earlier that it is planning to “build the best messaging experiences we can; and people want the messaging to be fast, simple, reliable and private.” It added: “We’re working on making more of our messaging products end-to-end encrypted and considering ways to make it easier to reach friends and family across networks.”
