Nokia 4.2 comes with a price tag of Rs 10,990 and it attempted to take on the established newbies in this price range like Xiaomi, Realme and Honor, but then on proper review, it proves to be a dampener.
The phone fits in nicely in the hand, but then the biggest blemish is the fingerprint sensor, the design of which is not very thoughtful. It is far too blended with the rear panel and the panel gets smudged every time you try to unlock it. Also, the sensor is very slow and becomes an excruciating task.
We now focus on the performance and here too, it is not too optimistic. The smartphone keeps lagging when we undertake multi-tasks and even when one tries to toggle between Netflix and WhatsApp, the phone starts lagging. Also, when we stream videos, the experience is not very bright.
Nokia has always been reputed for its brilliant battery and while this phone takes as long as two hours to charge, it lasts for one day. The 3,000mAh battery on the Nokia 4.2 manages to last a full day with tasks even after streaming content, multiple app browsing, calls and more.
There is good experience as far as Software is concerned as it runs on Android 9 Pie. Also, this introduces different features like ‘Adaptive Battery’, ‘Digital Wellbeing’, ‘App Actions’ and ‘Slices’ to the Nokia 4.2.
As far as aesthetics are concerned, this particular phone is quite good, but there could have been improvements made to camera and performance. Priced at Rs 10,999, there are plenty of other options– Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Redmi Y3 and Realme 3 Pro.
