Update on the launch of Realme X – Smartphone launch pushed to later in the year

China-based handset maker Realme on Wednesday informed that it will not be able to roll out its much-anticipated Realme X to India any time before the second half of the year.
“We shall try to bring it [Realme X] earlier, but with all our effort, we think we shall be only able to bring it around [the] second half of the year,” Realme India Chief Executive Officer Madhav Sheth informed in a Tweet which was addressed to a user.
The smartphone was unveiled at an event in Beijing last week. It was priced at Chinese Yuan (CNY) 1,499, which translates to around Rs 15,300 (4GB RAM +64GB ROM variant) and CNY 1,599, which is equal to Rs 16,300 (6GB RAM+64GB ROM variant).
Features of the phone:
The proposed phone will be powered by a 10nm Snapdragon along with a 710 chipset and will also feature a 48MP rear camera as well as a 16MP pop-up front camera. Also, the company had informed that sapphire glass will be used on the surface of the pop-up front camera in order to counter the scratches on the surface.
As far as the design is concerned, Realme has collaborated with the Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa, which has seen the introduction of two new colours– “steam white” and “punk blue”.
Realme, which started off as a sub-brand of Oppo in India, has now spread its wings to different countries including Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. In July last year,  Realme split from its parent company Oppo.
It made an immediate splash as soon as it made its debut in 2018 and was ranked as one of the top five smartphone companies during the fourth quarter of 2018 and captured around eight per cent of the market share.

Why do they keep pushing the launch date?

It’s Okay for them to delay the dates. At least they are going to surprise us with new features.
