Several differences, few similarities, and plenty of issues with availability – We have tried to help you get the best bet
Earlier this week, Xiaomi announced a significant cut to its Mi A2 smartphone. The handset was launched at Rs 16,999 (base model) in July last year, but after the slash, it is now available for Rs 11,999. However, the bigger question which is now being asked that since Xiaomi has already launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro should people invest the Mi A2 smartphone?
We first take a look at the camera. There is little doubt that Mi A2 has come up with the best camera Xiaomi in the under Rs 20,000 price bracket. It comes with two rear cameras including a 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 sensor and 20-megapixel Sony sensor. The results are excellent, especially in excellent results in daylight.
However, if we take a look at the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro, it has come up with a really pulled no punches as it is gone ahead with Sony’s latest IMX586 sensor to deliver 48-megapixel camera. As a result, the image is far better as far as the quality in terms of depth and clarity is concerned.
However, the biggest difference between the phones is the performance is the software. While Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro runs on Android Pie-based MIUI 10. Xiaomi Mi A2 runs on Google’s Android One platform. Now, this Google programme takes great care of timely security and software updates.
Now we turn attention to the design. Redmi Note 7 Pro takes the cake as it comes with far more suave glass back design with a notch on the front. Xiaomi Mi A2 has, on the other hand, has a metal unibody design with an 18:9 screen and does not have a notch. Also, it does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD slot.
As far as availability is concerned, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro can be difficult to get avail right now owing to the ridiculously high demand. At the same time, Mi A2 is far easier to buy as it can be purchased on mi.com, Amazon, Mi Home, Mi Store and other Mi preferred partners.
