Chromecast with Google TV could well be rolled out on September 30 and fresh renders of the long-rumoured Chromecast with its remote have now leaked. These new renders show a Chromecast with a remote and that, they have dedicated Netflix and YouTube buttons.
Google is expected to launch hardware, including a new Chromecast, at its event on September 30, and we can safely say that these renders will be a product that is close to the unveiling.
The latest renders of the Google Chromecast can be seen after weeks of leaks and rumours over the past few weeks. These new images have surfaced and indicate at a plastic oval HDMI dongle and this is bigger than the circular Chromecast devices which we have seen in the past.
We can see a remote control and there is also a revised button layout, and this includes dedicated buttons for YouTube and Netflix, as per a report in the Win Future.
This Google Chromecast could run on Android TV, and the OS is reportedly going to be revamped to Google TV along with the unveiling of the new device. There was a previous report in 9to5Google which said the new Google Chromecast will be unveiled for $49.99 and arrive in at least three colours and this includes “summer melon” (pink), “rock candy” (gray), and “summer blue.”
Google has already announced that they would unveil a new smart speaker at its event which will take place on September 30.
Now, they have Android TV and voice assistant capabilities and Google has major players like Roku and Fire TV in its sights and they are expected to stir up the existing competition. Also, regular updates, new content partners as well as new and improved app experiences are needed to propel Google’s streaming effort to rule the roost of the industry.
