The new app was launched by Google back in 2014, in order to increase productivity for users who have to deal with a lot of emails on a daily basis.
After announcing that they will be shutting down Google+ next month, another app Inbox by Google will also be now shut down as per a recent report by Google. Last year Google had announced that is planning to shut down the popular mobile app, however, they have not yet announced the specific date for the same.
For users who are using the mobile app, you could have seen a notification within the app informing you that the app will be ‘going away’ in 13 days (seen above). Hence, now Inbox by Gmail will now go away with Google+, which is the company’s failed social platform. Depending on when the in-app notice was seen, Google listed 15, 14, or 13 days to the shutdown – but the date for the eventual shutdown is April 2.
As has been the case over the past few months, Google has been shifting some Inbox by Gmail features to the regular Gmail app. Despite this, users will still miss a lot of useful features they got so used to using. Now, when this app will be discontinued, the core services of the app will stop working on April 2.
The new app was launched by Google back in 2014, in order to increase productivity for users who have to deal with a lot of emails on a daily basis. It gave the users the option to automatically curate replies, make bundles, and more. Now since the app is about to be taken down, it has become difficult to locate this app on the Play Store, for obvious reasons.
As of today, Gmail has already received a host of Inbox by Gmail features which include Smart Reply, Nudges, inline attachments, and more. It should be mentioned here that once the app is taken down, not all the features will be available on the default Gmail app.
