Last month a man named Gabe Burdett posted on social media how Apple Watch saved his father’s life
In a recent incident which has been reported with a Calgary woman is another excellent example of how Apple Watch can do so many other things than just showing hours and minutes. Apple Watch saved her from being raped by John Joseph Macindoe – a man who was obsessed with her and had planned the rape for several weeks together.
As per reports on CBC, on April 1, the woman was asleep in her home when she was forced to wake up as her dogs started barking. She then saw a dark figure approaching her and she tried to reach her phone which was not at its place.
However, she realised that she was wearing an Apple Watch and immediately messaged her boyfriend who then proceeded to call the police. The police rushed in, broke through the door, and found the suspect hiding in the woman’s kitchen.
It should be mentioned here that this is not the first time an Apple Watch has come to the rescue of the users. Last month a man named Gabe Burdett posted on social media how Apple Watch saved his father Bob Burdett’s life.
Burdett recounted the incident of how Bob was mountain biking when he suffered a fall that left him unconscious. However, he too was wearing an Apple Watch and it detected the fall and immediately sent a message to Gabe informing that it had “detected a hard fall” along with the location of the mishap. This happened because Bob had listed his son as an emergency connect.
“Dad is doing great, clear X-Rays and CT scan, but a little sore for sure! IF YOU OWN AN APPLE WATCH, set up your HARD FALL detection-it’s not just for when you fall off a roof or a ladder,’ Gabe wrote in his post that he shared on social media about the incident.
